Responsibilities Warehousing
Responsible for providing proper storage of all materials produced and received. Assists in inventory on stock material and reports shortages to proper personnel. Ensures incoming orders are correct and placed in proper storage areas.

Staging

  • Responsible for pulling stock and custom materials according to the order. Stages the material until the order is complete and ready to be shipped.

Safety

  • Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment. Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner. Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.

Physical Aspects

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Lifting up to 75 lbs. regularly without assistance

  • General carpentry skills, is desirable

Responsibilities:

Assembly

  • Cuts components and ensures the accuracy of cuts. Assembles pre-hung interior doors based on designs provided. Follows all steps of door production and assembly including hinge and lockset prep, cutting and fastening jambs, stops and casings. Utilizes various templates and tools. Ensures orders are completed accurately and according to schedule and to customer's specifications.

Safety

  • Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment. Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner. Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.

Position Description:

  • Enforce safety procedures and policies and ensure a safe work environment free of hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other government agencies.
  • Ensure co-workers are following safety rules and are demonstrating safe working behavior.
  • Drive overall quality for product built, shipped to and received by customer.
  • Strive to ensure quality outcome of product the first time, responsible for correcting quality errors and fixing processes to avoid future quality errors from occurring.
  • Assist Supervisors in directing and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in the production of doors.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
  • Partner with human resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Train and develop co-workers in their jobs.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel issues.
  • Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Review production schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.
  • Ensure inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Manage production with minimum waste and quality errors.
  • Observe work, monitor processes, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production standards.
  • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings.
  • Timely investigate and complete a thorough accident investigation report with corrective action input and have an action plan developed to correct safety issues. This includes taking the injured employee to receive the proper medical attention.
  • Conduct monthly site safety inspections and conduct weekly toolbox safety talks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Five or more years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Two plus years in management/supervisory position in a manufacturing facility
